Dear Maranatha Family, Faculty and Staff,
The Maranatha Board of Directors would like to update you on the upcoming search for a new Superintendent for Maranatha Christian Academy, the transition plan and ASCI accreditation.
The Board has used the last six weeks to meet with the faculty and staff, to update our Superintendent job description, and to research the current landscape of the position across the Christian education environment.
- The Board is fully committed to identifying and trusting God to bring us a candidate that will fully embrace our mission statement and will keep Biblical integration at the forefront just as Mr. Schultze and Dr. Daugherty have faithfully done.
- The Board is looking to identify a candidate that has a Master’s degree in Education or similar discipline, classroom experience and at least 5 years’ experience as the leader of a similarly sized Christian school.
- The Board anticipates posting the job description opening by January 15th, 2017.
- The Board anticipates communicating updates on this process every 45 days either through a letter, the MCA website and/or MCA office notes.
Transition Plan – The Board is working with Mr. Schultze on a transition plan to make sure the daily operations of the Superintendent role are documented well and will be easily handed off when the new Superintendent is hired and Mr. Schultze leaves July 31st, 2017. This transition plan will focus on all aspects of the current Superintendent role.
Accreditation – After consultation with ACSI regional and national leadership and discussion with Mr. Schultze and the principals, the Board believes we are well positioned to go forward with the accreditation review this coming April. While ACSI is willing to provide an extension if the Board and Administration feel necessary, our desire is to honor the work that has been completed to date and proceed with the review.
Thank you for your prayers and support during this important time and process.
MCA Board of Directors
