I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior at seven years old.  I have been blessed to be raised in a Christian home, with parents who encouraged me in my faith and prayed with and for me consistently.  I have attended Lenexa Baptist Church for almost 15 years. In that time I have served as a Bible Study Leader, been on the MOPS Steering Committee and Women’s Ministry Steering Committee. Currently I am a Deacon’s wife, and my husband, Derek, and I serve as teachers to the High School Seniors in the youth.

I graduated from high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to Oklahoma Baptist University where I graduated in 1998.  I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Development with a minor in Sociology. My first job outside of college was as a social worker for an adoption agency in Oklahoma City. It was challenging in so many ways, but such a blessing to work with young ladies who need someone to walk beside them during such a difficult time.

I have been married to Derek for over 18 years.  When I am not working in the office or with the yearbook staff, I enjoy spending time with my kids, reading, attending sports events, family/friend game nights and scrap-booking.  Pretty much anything involving family, laughter and relaxing!

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
