1st Grade

Teaching at Maranatha has been one of the joys of my life. I graduated from Evangel College with a bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1989 and went right into teaching. After teaching one year as a substitute and two years as a kindergarten teacher, I was given the opportunity to teach first grade at Maranatha Christian Academy.  That was twenty years ago. My first day of inservice I knew this was a place where the love of Christ was very evident and it still is! Teaching Biblical truths and integrating this thoughout our curriculum is such a rewarding way to set a positive foundation for life. Futurmore, I truly enjoy teaching to the different learning styles and bents of my students. It is a joy to see them learning, growing, and becoming all that God wants them to be. I have two children who attend as well as one who has graduated, and have seen first hand the benefits of a Christian education. They are grounded in the truth and have the skills necessary to make a positive impact. This is a wonderful place to be!
