Tim Warkentin
Math Dept. Head

Tim Warkentin is the new advanced mathematics teacher at Maranatha Christian Academy. He comes with more than 30 years of experience teaching mathematics, physics and programming to both high school and college students. His educational background includes a B.A. in physics, a M.S. in mathematics and considerable graduate level work in mathematics education. His desire is to prepare his students for the spiritual and educational challenges they will meet in college and secular employment.

My educational philosophy is based on Proverbs 9:10 which tells us that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Without this foundation no true education is possible. Christians have the solid rock of scripture on which to base their education.
I have been married for 33 years and have two sons and five grandchildren. I am looking forward to attending church with my sons and their families. I also enjoy golf, disc golf, chasing solar eclipses, collecting books and watching my grandchildren grow.
The following benediction from Hebrews 13 was used by my childhood pastor and reflects my spiritual goal:
“Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
