Girl’s Basketball

Coach Reggie Hines

CoachReggieReggie Hines is a native of Kansas City, Missouri. He attended and played basketball at Bishop Hogan High School. He continued and played basketball on scholarship at Johnson County Community College, and later, University of Central Missouri (formerly Central Missouri State University) where he received his Bachelor of Science in Education.

From an early age, Reggie found sports, mainly basketball, to be a vehicle for channeling his energy, learning discipline and focus. He credits his involvement in organized sports as the tool God used to build his character and teach him a valuable work ethic, teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship. As an adult, he consistently found himself gravitating toward programs that allowed him to share this love of the sport with young people.

As a result, Reggie has more than 25 years of experience coaching youth basketball in multiple programs, including Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, YMCA, Great American Basketball League, Upward Basketball, AAU and Ambassadors for Christ.  He has been a staff coach for Bill Self Summer Basketball Camp at the University of Kansas, Rockhurst University Basketball Camp, Avila University Basketball Camp and countless other basketball camps and clinics throughout Kansas City.

Reggie began serving as a personal basketball trainer in 1993 and founded 5515 Inc. (formerly K.C. Hoop) in 2000 to manage the production of basketball leagues, camps, and clinics, and to provide a vehicle for individual and team basketball instruction, and improved self-image to those he trains.

He was a part of the grand opening team for the The College Basketball Experience from 2007 to 2014 as the Director of Sales and Basketball Operations. Reggie planned, developed, marketed and implemented all internal and external basketball programs. In addition to contests, camps, clinics, leagues, games, team building exercises, and community outreach programs for the public and for private events, Reggie built strong partnerships for the organization and represented the destination through public speaking engagements. He left the CBE in 2014 to focus fully on youth events and programming through 5515 Inc.

Reggie has successfully led 5515 Inc. in developing and implementing many programs for young people, including the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s Club KC and Mayor’s Night Hoops programs. He is also currently the Director of Player Development for Power Group Basketball.  Reggie believes he honors his family and brings glory to God by reaching, instructing and encouraging young people innovatively, to win on the court and in life. Reggie is married to wife Kimberly and they have two children, Courtney and Phoebe.
