Dave Keener
Athletic Director

Graduated from Calvary Bible College with a BS degree in Education/Physical Education. Began teaching and working in Christian School education in 1979.

While teaching in Kansas City, Missouri began a state-wide Christian School organization that ran state championship athletic activities for schools throughout the state. Began with 14 boys basketball teams and 8 girls team  in 1994 and grew to include over 50 teams in basketball and also championships in soccer, volleyball, basketball, golf, tennis, track and field, and baseball. He resigned from that position in 2007 when he accepted the position at Maranatha.

Maranatha Christian Academy holds the distinction of offering the most sports of all 2A schools in Kansas. While presenting challenges, the school prides itself in the competitive level of their sports. They achieved the distinction in 2011-12 sports season of earning the award of 2A sports school of the year in the state of Kansas.

Mr. Keener is also the Dean of Students which means that he handles the discipline issues that come up in the secondary school. He enjoys working with students one on one with their walk and relationship with the Lord.

Mr. Keener is married to his fabulous wife Jana and has three grown children and three grandsons. When time permits he enjoys playing golf, yard work, gardening, fix it projects, and spending time with family. He had very clear direction in God leading him to Maranatha and is excited about working with families in the Maranatha Christian community.
