Debbie Martini

I have been a Christian since I came to the Lord my freshmen year in Emporia State University.  The Lord surrounded me with three Christian roommates and several Christian floor mates who all helped me to realize that I was a sinner and needed the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.  This fall I will have walked with Him for thirty-two years.  My husband, son, and I attend Cross Points Church.  My fellowship with Jesus is sweet and fulfilling.  He truly is my very best friend.

I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with Honors Magna Cum Laude from Emporia in 1985 and worked in the business world for close to four years.  In 1989, God showed me that I was to move to my parents’ home in New Jersey and attend college to earn my Master’s degree in Elementary Education.  After graduation, I taught for seven years in Southern New Jersey.  In 1999, I felt led to move back “home” to Kansas City, where I have taught in several districts.  In 2007, God led me back to school to obtain a Master’s degree in Special Education.  I have taught all grades kindergarten through sixth grade.

In 2001, I married my second best friend, Vince, who is a jeweler.  We adopted our son, Alex, from Ukraine in 2005 at the age of eight.  He is now 16 and close to 6 foot tall!  Both of my men are precious to me and we have a close family, including our extended families.  My name may be familiar to you because for the 2009-2010 school year, I taught kindergarten at Maranatha.  This year, I will work with the elementary students from both campuses, Monday through Thursday.  I am so thrilled and thankful to be back at Maranatha, serving the Lord and His dearly beloved children.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—

where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
