Tim Warkentin
Math Dept Head

I have been the advanced mathematics teacher at Maranatha Christian Academy since the 2014-15 academic year. My experience includes more than 30 years of teaching mathematics, physics and programming to both high school and college students. My undergraduate degree is a B.A. in physics. My graduate degree is an M.S. in mathematics. I also have considerable graduate level work in mathematics education.

I desire to prepare my students for the spiritual and educational challenges they will meet in college and secular employment. My educational philosophy is encapsulated by a quote from Dr. Bradley Green: “The life of the mind begins at the foot of the cross.” Christians have the only solid foundation on which to base education.

My family consists of my wife, Mary Warkentin (MCA kindergarten teacher), two sons and ten grandchildren. I enjoy golf, disc golf, chasing solar eclipses, collecting books and watching my grandchildren grow.

“Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ;
to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
